The future of New Haw Club

Published on

Exciting news regarding the future of New Haw Club. The committee have been looking at ways to ensure the club is fit for the future.
You are all aware that the existing building needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard, especially with the new EPC regulations for commercial buildings coming in to force in the near future.
The last year has been very difficult financially for everyone, including the club, and unfortunately upon review of the club’s finances and operations, continuing on in its current form the club will no longer be sustainable.
The committee have therefore been proactive in exploring various avenues to ensure that we can continue operating and believe that we now have a viable option which we would like to propose to the members to secure the future of New Haw Club.
Our biggest asset is the land we own and therefore we are proposing to our members that we build a new Eco- friendly club funded by the sale of part of the land.
Working in partnership with a local building company, William Lacey, the proposition is to build a new club on the green belt land which will be funded by the building of 9 houses on the site of the existing club. This option also provides the club with a capital injection to clear existing debts and furnish the new club, whilst also leaving residual funds to secure the future of the club.
We invite all members to join us on 16th August from 3pm until 8pm where we will be joined by representatives of William Lacey to view proposed plans and ask any questions you may have.
This option hasn’t been taken lightly but we have a duty of care to the members of New Haw Club to ensure it’s future.
Following this consultation a special meeting will take place on Tuesday 29th August at 7:30pm to vote on the proposal. If you have any questions please ask a member of the committee who will do their best to answer them prior to the meeting with the builders.
Many Thanks
Your Committee.
